La perfección

(CASTELLANO) Hay películas que te dejan sin saber muy bien qué acabas de ver, y The Perfection es una de ellas. Empieza como un drama elegante sobre dos prodigios del violonchelo y, sin previo aviso, se convierte en un festival de giros, sangre y locura. Shepard mezcla géneros como si no existieran reglas: pasa del suspense psicológico al body horror, de la sátira al puro delirio, y lo hace con una seguridad casi insolente. Logan Browning y Allison Williams están brillantes, sobre todo en cómo cambian el tono de sus personajes sin perder credibilidad. Hay momentos tan absurdos que rozan lo cómico, pero justo ahí está la gracia: la película sabe lo que es y juega con el espectador como si fuera parte del experimento. Si pestañeas, te pierdes algo… aunque no pasa nada, porque enseguida te lo vuelve a mostrar desde otro ángulo. Sí, es explícita y, por momentos, desagradable. It starts as an elegant drama about two cello prodigies and, without warning, turns into a wild mix of twists, blood, and madness. Shepard blends genres as if there were no rules — jumping from psychological suspense to body horror, from satire to pure delirium — and he does it with almost insolent confidence. Logan Browning and Allison Williams are both excellent, especially in the way they shift tone without ever losing credibility. There are moments so absurd they almost become funny, but that’s exactly the point: the movie knows what it is and plays with the audience like part of the experiment. Blink, and you’ll miss something… but don’t worry, it’ll rewind and show it again from another angle. Yes, it’s explicit and, at times, disturbing. But it’s also hypnotic, visually powerful, and full of energy you don’t often find. Shepard films excess with taste and turns the grotesque into something almost refined. It’s a ride without brakes — unpredictable, provocative, and impossible to look away from. The Perfection doesn’t try to please everyone; it wants you to feel uneasy, to react, to think. And it succeeds. Not perfect, maybe, but absolutely fascinating.
