(CASTELLANO) Otro pequeño favor llega con la difícil tarea de dar continuidad a una película que, sin ser revolucionaria, funcionaba por su frescura, estilo y las interpretaciones de Kendrick y Lively. Esta secuela, sin embargo, se queda a medio camino de todo. Intenta repetir fórmula, pero sin sorpresa. Hay giros, hay glamour, hay localizaciones europeas con postales de catálogo… pero falta algo fundamental: sentido. Hollywood lleva años obsesionado con rodar en Europa como sinónimo de sofisticación, pero aquí más bien parece una excusa vacacional para el equipo. Y eso se nota. Capri está preciosa, sí, pero ¿realmente ayuda a la historia? No. Si algo lastra esta entrega es precisamente la sensación constante de que todo es forzado, de que la chispa de la original se ha perdido y de que los personajes actúan más por compromiso que por convicción. Kendrick y Lively siguen siendo lo mejor, aunque se les nota algo contenidas. La trama, en cambio, se desinfla rápido, sin rumbo claro y con un final tan absurdo como innecesario. Y lo peor es que, aun durando menos de dos horas, se hace larga. Es como cuando una serie que adorabas se renueva una temporada más y, de pronto, todo se siente innecesario. This sequel, however, falls short on almost every front. It tries to repeat the formula but without any surprise. There are twists, there’s glamour, there are European locations that look like postcards... but what’s really missing is purpose. Hollywood has been obsessed for years with filming in Europe as a shortcut to sophistication, but here it just feels like an excuse for a team vacation. And it shows. Capri looks beautiful, sure, but does it add anything to the story? Not really. What weighs this sequel down is the constant sense that everything is forced, that the original spark is gone, and that the characters are moving more out of obligation than conviction. Kendrick and Lively remain the best part, although they feel a bit restrained. The plot, on the other hand, deflates quickly, directionless and with an ending that’s both absurd and unnecessary. Worst of all, even though it’s under two hours, it feels long. It’s like when a show you once loved gets renewed for one season too many—and suddenly, everything feels pointless. In short: it’s not a total disaster, but it’s yet another example that not every successful story needs a sequel. Sometimes it’s better to leave things on a high note than to risk ruining the memory.
